FROM THE PASTOR
As I celebrate my first weekend of Masses at each of the Parishes I am Blessed to be the Pastor of, I want to express my joy at being part of the Catholic Family of Cheektowaga. I look forward to being a part of and getting to know you, the members of our Family of Parishes.
Just a little bit about me as I begin this journey in faith here in Cheektowaga. I was ordained in 2006 and became a Parochial Vicar at St. John the Baptist in Kenmore. The Pastor at the time was Richard Reina and I enjoyed working with him and being a part of the Parish for three years. After that I moved down to the area where I grew up. In fact, I became the Pastor of my home Parish, St. Mary’s of Lourdes in Mayville/Bemus Point. For almost thirteen years I was the Pastor there and although a little challenging at times, I had a wonderful experience. Following that assignment, I became the administrator of the Jamestown Parishes for 11 months before I was appointed to be the Vicar Forane for the Western Southern Tier, which I just stepped down from after approximately 19 months.
Moving forward I recognize that many of you are hurting in regards to the possible closure of your Parish/Worship site. This is a great loss and as one Pastor at our last Pastors meeting with our Bishop pointed out, it is comparable to the loss of a close loved one, such as a parent or sibling. With this in mind, please know that I have been praying for those of you at St. Josaphat & Queen of Martyrs. As I pray for you, I ask that you pray for me that I might be given the grace to help guide this Family of Parishes to a place where we can be the Body of Christ that God’s will is calling us to be.
May God’s Peace and Love Be with All of You.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Todd
